Yoga & Ayurveda Wellness Retreat in Rishikesh

This is a place to stop, not to strive. For six unhurried days on the banks of the Ganga Ji , in the quiet of Upper Tapovan, you let go — gentle morning yoga and pranayama, personalised Ayurvedic therapies, sattvic food and long, restful evenings. There is nothing to pass and nothing to prove; only the slow, healing work of feeling like yourself again.

Rest & Renewal

Not a Course — a Pause

This is our wellness retreat, and rest is the whole point. There is no syllabus to keep up with and nothing to certify. Just six unhurried days of gentle yoga, breathwork, meditation and personalised Ayurvedic care — the space to slow all the way down and let the body and mind mend at their own pace.

01
Come exactly as you are

You do not need to be fit, flexible or experienced. Every session is gentle and optional, and the whole rhythm is built to meet you where you are — whether you have practised for years or have never once sat on a mat.

02
Healing, made personal

Ayurveda sits at the heart of the retreat. Alongside the daily yoga and meditation, you receive personalised therapies — Abhyanga, Shirodhara, Potli and more — chosen around your own goals, whether that is deep rest, a gentle detox, or simply more energy.

03
Nothing to prove

What you walk away with is not a certificate but a lightness — a quieter mind, a rested body, and the small, steadying habits that tend to follow you home long after the six days are over.

“You do not have to earn rest, or achieve it. You only have to allow it — and this is a place built entirely for the allowing.”
More Than a Getaway

Living at Adhiroha

There is something worth saying plainly, right at the start: these six days ask very little of you. This is not a resort with a little stretching bolted onto the side — and we would rather you knew that before you booked than felt misled once you arrived. It is a fair trade, though. Here is both sides of it.

What the retreat gently asks
A few early starts

The best of Rishikesh happens as the sun comes up over the river — the mornings are worth rising for.

Unplugging for a while

A willingness to set the phone down and let the outside world wait for a week.

An open mind

Curiosity more than commitment — try the therapies and the sittings, and take whatever serves you.

Retreat guests sitting together in a relaxed circle inside the Adhiroha shala An ashram — not a resort
What it quietly gives back
A quiet, calm place

A peaceful ashram, calm by design — not a party with a timetable attached.

A body that feels tended

Ayurvedic care, unhurried practice and real sleep — you leave physically lighter than you arrived.

A quieter mind

Space to hear yourself think again, and to sit comfortably with your own thoughts.

The month is never really about becoming someone new — it is about finding your way back to the person you quietly already were.

A Day in the Life

The Rhythm of a Retreat Day

People always want to know what the days really feel like, so here is the honest shape of one — gentle, spacious, and entirely unhurried. Nothing is compulsory; you can do all of it, or simply rest and let the therapies do the work.

Morning
6:00 — 9:00
6:00

Shatkarma — gentle cleansing practices as the light comes up

6:30

Pranayama and breathwork, while the air is still cool

7:30

A gentle, restorative asana practice — nothing strenuous

9:00

Breakfast — warm and simple, eaten without hurry

Mid-Day
10:00 — 13:00
10:00

Satsang — an easy, open talk over yoga and everyday life

11:00

Your Ayurvedic therapy begins — Abhyanga, Shirodhara or Potli

13:00

Lunch, then a real rest through the warm part of the day

Afternoon
14:00 — 17:30
14:00

More personalised Ayurvedic treatments through the afternoon

16:00

Free time — rest, walk by the river, or simply do nothing

Evening
18:00 — 19:30
18:00

Bhakti chanting, then meditation as the day winds down

19:30

Dinner, and lights out early — because dawn comes early too

By the second or third day, the rhythm carries you rather than the other way round.

This gentle repetition, day after day in clean mountain air, is the real medicine — far more than any single treatment on its own.

The ashram

Amenities at Our Yoga School in Rishikesh

A practice always takes on the shape of the space it happens in, and we have spent years making ours feel right. The ashram spreads across three quiet acres beside a flowing brook, ringed by hills and forest — and every corner of it exists for a reason.

A 360-Degree Forest-View Shala

A bright, purpose-built shala that opens onto forest and mountains on every side — props, a small library, and space enough that a class never feels crowded. Practising with green and sky all around you does something four studio walls simply cannot.

A Peaceful Three-Acre Ashram

Set on three acres beside the brook, the grounds stay calm even when a full batch is in residence — a small Shiva temple for quiet sitting, shaded corners for reading, and the soft sound of running water that slows everyone down within a day or two.

An In-House Cafe and Massage Centre

On rest days there is a cosy cafe serving healthy organic drinks and snacks, and an Ayurvedic massage centre for when the body asks for it. After a hard week of practice, an hour of traditional massage is less a luxury than genuine self-care.

Cozy Sitting Areas Everywhere

Quiet spaces dotted around the ashram, made simply for unwinding — reading, journalling, or easy conversation with people who stop being strangers within weeks. A surprising amount of the real learning happens in these unhurried in-between moments.

Why Rishikesh
Why Rishikesh

The Setting Does Half the Work

You could find rest in a spa in almost any city. What you could not find is this. Rishikesh sits exactly where the Ganga Ji leaves the mountains and meets the plains — a threshold place that has drawn seekers for thousands of years. The air feels cleaner and somehow more awake; temple bells carry across the water at first light.

Choosing to heal here means choosing all of that as your backdrop, not as scenery but as part of the cure. You rest where the tradition has been kept alive across centuries, and the letting-go tends to come deeper, faster, simply because the place keeps drawing you quietly inward.

Set a little above the busy riverbank, up in the calm of Upper Tapovan, our ashram gives you that rare pairing — real spiritual weight and genuine peace, in the same breath.
Your Home for the Week

Where You Will Stay

A true rest deserves more than a bed and four walls. The ashram sits on three quiet acres beside a flowing brook, wrapped in hills and forest, and the accommodation is designed to do one thing above all — keep your mind free to simply unwind.

  • Clean, airy rooms full of natural light, most looking straight out at the mountains
  • Ensuite washrooms with dependable hot water, around the clock
  • Simple, peaceful interiors that make it easy to rest deeply and sit quietly
  • Reliable high-speed WiFi and safe RO drinking water throughout the ashram
  • Twin or triple sharing for the full six days — comfortable, clean and quiet
Guests often say it was the best they had slept in years — and that the mornings, for once, felt like something to look forward to.

The Food

Simple Meals That Support the Practice

The kitchen runs on one quiet belief: over time, you become what you eat. Three nourishing vegetarian meals arrive each day, cooked in the Satvik and Ayurvedic way, built around exactly what a body under a full practice load actually needs. The ingredients come fresh from local organic farms, and everything is prepared simply, without fuss.

Do not mistake simple for plain, though. Most guests are quietly surprised by how good the food is. Eating this way for twelve days does something you notice slowly: lighter mornings, steadier energy, a clearer head on the mat.

Much of what you learn here about living well is not taught in a classroom at all — it is absorbed from the rhythm of simple meals, early nights and unhurried mornings.

How long is the retreat, and how does a day look?
The Yoga & Ayurveda retreat runs for six days and five nights. You arrive by noon on the 24th and check out on the morning of the 29th. Each day flows gently — cleansing and pranayama, a soft morning practice, satsang, personalised Ayurvedic therapies through the middle of the day, and meditation in the evening. Nothing is compulsory.
Do I need any yoga experience to come?
None at all. The retreat welcomes complete beginners as warmly as seasoned practitioners. Every session is gentle and optional, and the whole point is to slow down — not to keep up with anything.
Which Ayurvedic therapies are included?
Your stay includes personalised Ayurvedic treatments such as Abhyanga (warm oil massage), Shirodhara (a steady stream of oil over the forehead) and Potli (herbal poultice therapy). On arrival we talk through your goals — deep rest, gentle detox, more energy — and shape the therapies around them.
What does it cost, and what is included?
A shared-triple place starts from €510 (double sharing €660). That covers your six-day accommodation, three sattvic meals a day, your daily yoga and meditation, the Ayurvedic therapies, a welcome kit and airport pickup from Dehradun. A €300 registration holds your place and forms part of that total, with the balance paid on arrival.
Is this a course? Do I get a certificate?
No — this is a wellness retreat, not a teacher training. There are no exams, no assessments and no certificate to earn. You come to rest, heal and recharge; that is the whole of it. If it is a certification you are after, take a look at our teacher training courses instead.
Is there an age limit?
You need to be eighteen or older, and there is no upper limit at all. Our guests range from their late teens well into their seventies. What matters here is simply a wish to slow down, not age or fitness.
What kind of food is served?
Wholesome, sattvic vegetarian meals three times a day, cooked fresh in-house and leaning gently toward Ayurvedic principles. Alongside the food there is safe RO drinking water, detox water and herbal tea. Do let us know of any allergies or needs when you book.
Can I stay longer than six days?
Yes. Six days is our standard retreat, but stays can be tailored anywhere from a short three-day reset to a deep twenty-eight-day immersion. Just tell us how long you would like when you write, and we will arrange it.
What should I bring, and how do I prepare?
Very little — comfortable, loose clothing, a light layer for cool mornings, and an open mind. Everything for the practice and the therapies is provided. The best preparation is simply to arrive ready to unplug for a week.
How do I book my place?
Register through the form below or write to us directly, and a €300 deposit reserves your place — always part of the total, never an extra. We will confirm your dates and arrival details, and a real person stays on hand to answer anything before you travel.
